Ello was the man who handed Gottwald that title, stepping off at 66 with an Achilles. He came back. Dowdle came in as the Go One More champion. They are now the race.
Norman Mascher-Aspensjö, the two-time German 24-hour champion, was the last man out at 80. Hendrik Boury 68. Martin Stiller 66. Caroline Maria Bolte was the last woman standing, 52 yards and a German women's backyard record in the first last-one-standing race she had ever started. Harvey Lewis, a former Big's champion, went out at 46.
